Jimmy MacDonald was a sound effects specialist for Disney and only the second person ever to be the voice of Mickey Mouse. He took over the role after Walt Disney himself handed it down in 1946. MacDonald would play the part until 1976, the year our Mouseketeers began filming. I’m not sure if he does the Mickey voicing for the NMMC opening cartoons, or if they decided to go with someone new for the new series. (If you know, please pass along that trivia bit.)

Either way, MacDonald did make an appearance with our Mouseketeers in episode #6. He talked with them about sound effects. You can see a brief glimpse of MacDonald in this clip from another Disney show, at about 1:08.
