Mice en Espanol!
The club alma mater dubbed in Spanish — a new find! According to the credits this is from episode 003 with Annette and Tim from the 50′s show. See Shawnte and Todd sign off with different voices! Nice.
it’s been awhile
Wow, guess I hung my ears up for awhile, eh? Cannot believe it has been TWO years. I see several of you are still stopping by so I am going to start posting again. Thanks for reading!
As a reward, you will find a revamped Kelly page. I added a new video to the bottom of the list. It shows Kelly crowning her successor in the Miss California Pageant.
You will also see a link to the site I have been working on: discomice.com. It still needs much work (and I need more hours in the day!) but I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks for checking in and for remembering our beloved disco mice.
That’s What Makes the World Go Round
A clip Sword in the Stone, the song “That’s What Makes the World Go ‘Round”. Again, unsure which clip was actually used that day on the show. Just giving you a feel for the era and the pieces featured on the show.
Won’t Somebody Dance with Me?
Of course, we don’t have Lisa singing it, but here is the song by the original artist, Lynsey De Paul. I think Lisa has a much better voice!
Dumbo trailer
This is probably not the clip used on the show, but it’s the best I could find for now.
mousekartoon: beezy bear
A 1955 release featuring Donald Duck. This one has subtitles (German?) while the cartoon plays in English.
feature: yellowstone cubs
Don’t know if this is the same footage shown in episode 007, but it’s cute enough. It’s from 1958.
mousekartoon: elmer elephant
A birthday-turned-rescue party is the scene of this 1936 Silly Symphony.
mousekartoon: how to dance
Goofy takes dancing lessons in this 1953 cartoon.
mousekartoon: bone trouble
1940 cartoon featuring Pluto. These days we see more of Goofy, who’s more like an idiot human than a cute pooch. Nice to see a good old dog cartoon.
mousekartoon: donald applecore
Donald Applecore was already 25 years old when it appeared on the NMMC. It’s still funny. But a note to the sensitive: it’s not politically correct. Donald attempts murder by pesticide, then finds a disney-fied Chinese dialect when he digs through to the other side of the earth. But then, I’m sure Donald wouldn’t want to be PC anyway.
mousekamovie special: fantasia
Don’t know which portions of Fantasia were actually featured on this episode; it’s listed only as a “film collage”. So I grabbed the only YouTube listing for a Disney Fantasia clip titled “collage”. Other more specific Fantasia clips were used later in the series, and I will post those separately.
mousekartoon: self control
When we first see Donald in “Self Control”, he’s singing “In The Shade Of The Old Apple Tree,” and later we hear the song “Laugh and Count to Ten”. This short was also seen in the movie Donald’s Decision, about Donald choosing whether or not to buy war bonds.
mousekartoon: the old mill
“The Old Mill” won the Academy Award in 1939 for “Best Short Subject: Cartoons”. No celebrity characters here, just an owl and some birds and beautiful old-school animation.
TUESDAY let’s go day
Tuesday’s opening song, “Climb On Board to a Dream”. No roll call on this one.
talent showcase: mousekadance
This is the first routine the Mouseketeers learned, and it’s the most popular Talent Showcases of the series. It was featured on Monday (083), Tuesday (047), Wednesday (125), and Thursday (004). It is the quintessential clip of the 70′s show. These were not your parent’s Mouseketeers. You can really get a feel for the era from this song. Can you find which two Disco Mice are not in this number?
talent showcase: discovery
This song, “Discovery” was the original theme for the Thursday shows, later changed to “Let’s Discover Discovery Day”. It stayed in the show as a Talent Showcase. Although it’s originally a Thursday number, it actually aired on episode 011, a Monday. Scott gives the introduction wearing his Thursday sweater.
FRIDAY showtime!
Introduction to the Friday shows from Disneyland.
MONDAY who, what, why, where, when and how day
Here’s the opening for all Monday shows, including “Mickey Mouse March” and Monday’s theme, “Who, What, Why, Where, When, and How Day “.
Wonderful World of Disney’s “At Home with Donald Duck”
A clip show originally featuring the 50′s Mouseketeers. This 70′s adaptation includes:
- the 70′s version of “Mickey Mouse March”, in color, with an added verse
- Monday’s Mouseketeer roll call
- “Discovery!”, the original Thursday theme, later changed to “Let’s Discover Discovery Day”
- “Mousekedance” a Mouseketeer talent number shown repeatedly throughout the series
- Thursday’s Alma Mater, featuring Pop and interrupted by a cartoon
- cartoon introduction by Donald Duck.
nmmc videos
You want your DVD, but this will have to do (for now). The home page will be for show clips. Episode numbers are taken from Joel’s list. Click on a show number to view all clips from that episode.
In the mousekecloud, click on names to see clips of your favorite. Clips tagged “mice” include all twelve Mouseketeers; clips with names may include many mice, but you will find one or two missing, as in “Mousekedance”.
The other pages feature off-show clips of the Mice, as fans locate them online. Your comments and contributions are invaluable. C’ya real soon.
